Moray Meccano Modellers

A few years ago I was talking to one of the stallholders in our local market about some O O gauge Hornby trains he had on his stall. I said I was looking  for some Hornby O gauge track to stand some Meccano locomotive models on. He bent down and picked up a box of track! £20.00 and it was mine.

He also had some MO range trucks and clockwork  locos for £60.00, which was too much. A few weeks later, they were still there and he offered them to me for another £20.00.

Thus began my secondary interest in Hornby/Meccano O gauge railways.

Meccano/Hornby O gauge railway

I bought these (except the tank wagon)  at the Elgin Model Railway exhibition in March. My friend who runs the railway stall on our local market said he had some items for me which were in mint condition.

These two have a date code of 1949 on the boxes. Both in mint condition, the wheels had never been on a track - until now.

This one is slightly playworn, but still in excellent condition - no box

I bought this one off Will some time ago. The box is dated 1954

This little 0-4-0 tank loco came from someone else at the exhibition. No bad condition but the forward gear must be a bit worn, and doesn't engage easily but still runs well. Someone has had a lot of fun with it in the past.

I don't know the date
