This
year we didn't really have one centerpiece as such, but in the
front we put HMS Rodney . Several people asked if she was HMS
Nelson, which is 99% correct as Rodney was a Nelson Class
battleship. We put her onto a box with a simple cam under the
"sea" so the children could turn the handle and make her
pitch and roll.
My
friend Bill in America sent me a picture of an aircraft he had made.
I recognised it as Bleriot's Mark IX in which he first flew across
the English Channel, and asked if I could have a copy of the plans.
Bill said it was a Marklin kit, but sent the plans anyway together
with some Marklin parts and I cobbled this model together.
The
two flanking pieces were the shop models of a ferris wheel and
Blackpool Tower owned by a local gentleman and loaned to me. (see
the Models 4 pagejind by Jeremy's
friend Kieren who exhibited
We
were also joined by Jeremy's friend Kieren who exhibited some of his
models.
Sadly
this was the weekend the snow started which brought Scotland to a
standstill (you can see it through the window in some of the
photos). Angus from Aberdeen was going to join me, but was unable to
get to Elgin, and it also kept many of the visitors away, so it was
both enjoyable and disappointing.
